"Talent loss is the main impact for Critical Suppliers", says Industry leader, the BCI.

With Business Continuity Awareness week coming next month industry leaders, the Business Continuity Institute, are continuing to lead the way in keeping business leaders ahead in how to specifically target risks and threats.

Supply chain has long been an issue over which businesses have limited influence, unlike the own internal systems and resources. But they are key if we want to be nimble and react swiftly to the growing uncertainty of an external world, over which we have no influence.

Supply chain is as critical as our own people, technology and resources inside the business, so its perhaps even more important to understand how others view these threats to resilience when a critical supplier's failure could impact their clients.

This month's data, from an extensively supported and researched analysis, shows that the loss of skills and talent - in the supplier - is a real key threat to consumers during these changing times.

Whilst traditional continuity issues include cyber, technology, physical and transport preparedness and occupy risk managers during the procurement or review cycles with their important service provider, these indicators show us how we should mature our due diligence to understand and include what suppliers are doing about retaining, embedding and making resilient key staff and knowledge pockets in their own enterprises.
