Armstrong Resilience continues to be a proud premium sponsor of the Royal Guernsey Light Infantry Trust and their yearly student exchange programme, building upon and strengthening links to Europe. In April this year students from two French schools, aged 8 & 16, visited the Channel Islands as local communities worked together to improve the links between the UK and Europe. In a packed programme of events students visited Blanchelande College, Herm Island, Government House and Masion Victor Hugo in Guernsey, also exploring a number of heritage sites kindly organised by the museum service. Other sponsors included Saffrey Rotary Walk, Rotary Club of Guernsey, Condor Ferries and Sarnia Hotel Group.
A return visit for Guernsey students visiting Masnieres will happen in June this year.
Masnieres in the Nord Department of France was twinned with St Peter Port in Guernsey during 2018, commemorating over 100 years since the Royal Guernsey Light Infantry fought and retained the town of Masnieres against heavy losses in military and civilians. The RGLI Trust commemorates these events and helps develop positive cultural diplomacy through a number of international initiatives
